Stop learning and Start doing!

It’s time to stop learning and start doing! Don’t wait around to make your move.

Do you know what the most common practice is between those who are just starting an online business? They are always studying instead of doing. They feel the need to know everything before starting anything. If you happen to ask them why they do things this way, they’ll say, “I’m a perfectionist” or “I always learn everything before I start anything.” Unfortunately, online business doesn’t work like that.

Our problem is that we try to learn too much, which means we are always in learning mode as a result. We spend so much time learning that we fail to get started. For example, when we start to create a blog or website, you go into this learning mode. You learn all you possibly can about the business beforehand. After learning this information, we concentrate on the design of it (how to make it look better, arranging color combinations, etc.), how we will monetize it, and other details such as email followups and auto responses. When all is said and done, we’re so tired out from the small stuff that we never start the blog.

There’s nothing wrong with learning, but you need to implement that learning as well. For example, if you are learning something from a video, try doing it at the same time. Learn it. Implement it. Do this simultaenously. This should be your mantra. Don’t wait; just do it! Even the most successful and well-known bloggers in the world are still learning about their industry. Technology is always changing, so they too have to keep up. Even if they’ve been blogging for five years, they still have to learn new technology and blogging practices.

In school and college, we have a graduation ceremony as we finish our schooling. We get a diploma and certificat saying we are qualified to practice in the field we have studied. We know how to do certain things, and we have a piece of paper to prove it. However, online business doesn’t have any certificate to certify us that we have the skills necessary to start our own business. This doesn’t mean that we don’t know what we’re doing; you don’t need a certificate for online business. You’ve already reached a level of learning during your time creating your online business.

It’s an ongoing process, learning, and though we may wish there was a graduation ceremony for learning about online business, there isn’t. You simply learn as you go. You’ll make mistakes. It’s not the end of the world. All you have to do is tweak things here and there to fix the mistake, and you’re back on your way. Don’t hesitate to follow your dream of having an online business. Just do it!
